MACHAMLEAR 2ND SEPTEMBER
Performed in the inner bailey of Appleby Castle.
It’s 400 years since Shakespeare’s complete works were first published in a single
collection. Now we’re inviting you to be part of a unique experiment to answer the
question that’s been burning ever since: which play is the best? Come and join us to
decide the public’s favourite Shakespeare in an exciting new television show, Will of
the People. In this episode, we’ll be pitting Macbeth, Hamlet and King Lear against
each other as some of the finest actors we can afford put their own outrageous stamp
on these great tragedies.
Specially commissioned from playwright Michael Davies (also feat. William
Shakespeare), this shameless exploitation of England’s greatest writer allows you to
have your say, eat your picnics and even get the chance to perform as the three iconic
plays are mingled, mangled and mashed into submission for your delectation.
Which Will will you vote for?
